FWD Insurance is celebrating 10 years young with celebratory activations kick-off: Hong Kong business made remarkable achievements

A series of events to #Celebrateliving and continue to support the public’s health and well-being

FWD Insurance (“FWD”) today kicks off an array of exciting activations for Hong Kong on its “Here we are for your health” Experience Day to “Celebrate living” with the public as the brand is celebrating 10 years young this year. FWD will bring months of refreshing “FWD 10th anniversary - Here we are for your health” activities to FWD HOUSE 1881 from June onwards to continue to support people’s health and well-being through the everyday aspects of “Food”, “Music” and “Sports”. 

The 10th anniversary marks a significant milestone in FWD’s development journey. In the past decade, FWD not only focused on accelerating business growth organically, but also completed the acquisition of MetLife Hong Kong, thus strategically increased market share and expanded service scope. The abundant industry accolades FWD received are testament to FWD's leading position in the industry, recognising its continuous effort in changing the way people feel about insurance. FWD has been providing opportunities for the public to embrace their life passions through supporting various events and experiences, and collaborating with non-profit organisations to serve the community. Through a series of diverse activations in Hong Kong, FWD invites everyone to celebrate the 10th anniversary together.

FWD was ranked the number one1 life insurer in Hong Kong by growth in new business case count and number of in-force policies, solidifying our position as one of the top-tier insurance companies in the region.”

In 2022, FWD Hong Kong ranked third2 and fourth3 in Hong Kong by new business first year premium and new business case count, respectively, the number of new business case on online and direct sales platforms ranked first in Hong Kong4 and brought home with various industry awards. In the first quarter of 2023, FWD Hong Kong ranks fourth5 in the new business case count, with a year-on-year increase of 51%. FWD Hong Kong has maintained its growth even during the pandemic period from 2020 to 2022, with its accumulative single premium income ranked third6

FWD is well prepared to seize the opportunities brought by customers' insurance needs with a series of optimisations to provide high-quality and targeted health protection and wealth products and services to our customers in Hong Kong as well as visitors from such as Mainland China.”

In addition, in the first quarter of this year, FWD products purchased by visitors from Mainland China to Hong Kong has significantly increased year-on-year. The related annualised premium equivalent has shown a strong growth, which is twice the industry average5.

Starting from June, FWD HOUSE 1881 will transform into a vibrant stage, offering a range of rich and exciting experiences. You can savour delicious cuisine, immerse yourself in the rhythm of music, and experience various sports activities and unique workshops. These activities showcase FWD's pursuit of embracing every wonderful moment in life. The events will take place at FWD HOUSE 1881, in which FWD revitalised and transformed the century-old heritage to a cultural landmark, aiming to engage the community in meaningful means. 

To bring these epic event experiences to life, FWD partners with distinguished teams to bring healthy lifestyles and happiness to our community. 
• In celebration of this special occasion, FWD HOUSE 1881 will offer exclusive dessert, drink and cocktail, available at The Steak Room and The Cell. You are also welcome to take photos at several stunning spots. 
Be Earth Yoga Studio, founded by star yoga instructor Elva Ni, will offer a soothing yoga journey for the mind and body. Hong Kong Marathon 2023 (Half Marathon) Men's winner Wong Kai Lok, Eric, and Women's winner Lo Ying Chiu, Virginia, will guide the night run along the Victoria Harbour waterfront. 
Blooms Coffee, a gourmet coffee brand established by Hong Kong celebrity Moses Chan, will provide hand drip coffee brewing workshops. 
adiClub by Adidas, will lead cardio and weight-training sessions. 
Wonderful busking performances by local musicians. 

Elva Ni, Eric Wong and Virginia Lo were invited as guests to the kick-off ceremony of FWD 10th anniversary, where they shared their excitement and joy of collaborating with FWD to promote health and well-being.

Elva Ni, who advocates for healthy lifestyle, shared at the ceremony, "I have been traveling abroad for work in recent months, and jet lag has led to insufficient sleep. Therefore, I pay more attention to maintaining a healthy diet and practicing yoga for a balanced state of mind and body. I’m beyond excited to boost public’s awareness in health and well-being together with FWD."

Eric Wong, who is dedicated in promoting long-distance running culture in Hong Kong, said, “Every long-distance runner has to keep breaking through personal limits and mental state is at its core. I choose to listen to music to alleviate the stress during training, allowing myself to run faster and further.”

Virginia Lo, the new generation athlete in long-distance running, stated, "I enjoy running along the picturesque Victoria Harbour and it brings positive energy to me.”

A series of exciting entertainment in the city
Furthermore, FWD will continue to support various music experiences, including the concerts featuring boyband MIRROR and the individual members, as well as the concert tour of legendary star Jacky Cheung, collaborating with the local music industry to create spectacular music events. FWD will also sponsor teamLab Future Park, a mega interactive visual art experiential space crafted by the world-renowned cross-sector art collective, showcasing FWD’s support and interest in diverse entertainment sectors.

Giving back and supporting local community
In line with FWD’s commitment to care for the local community and encourage inclusive society, we continue to work closely with different charitable organisations and make a positive impact in the community. These projects include:

Supporting CareER in enhancing their employment services for higher educated persons with disabilities and special education needs.
Developing the “JA SparktheDream” programme with Junior Achievement Hong Kong and engage FWD volunteers in developing students’ financial literacy.
Partnering with Hong Chi Association to foster social inclusion and celebrate our 10 years of collaboration in 2023.
Supporting the HKSAR Government’s “Strive and Rise Programme” and host two rounds of FWD HOUSE 1881 monument revitalisation guided tours and life planning workshops in June, aiming to broaden the horizons of students from less resourceful family backgrounds.

1OxFWD hand drip coffee brewing appreciation

Founded and owned by the Hong Kong celebrity Moses Chan, a coffee connoisseur with a deep affection for beans and roastery, Blooms is a specialty coffee roaster, cafe, wholesaler and retailer only devoted to brewing a bespoke caffeinated drink for all coffee and tea lovers.
